Is NAIM gone mad? Or the value of sticking what we have...

Since I own the Ovators 400 the price in Germany has been risen by 42%. Same wit the Superuniti: 25%. That is quite a significant price hike. Superline has increased by almost 35%.

My times of buying Naim are over, because I cannot afford it anymore. Or, there is more motivation to stick what I have and enjoy...

As far as I am aware the price of Focal speakers hasnt been reduced despite the fact that the company is based in France. I wonder why?

On the other hand, Devialet have reduced the price of their amplifiers in the UK partly to reflect exchange rate movements and partly as a result of moving to a direct distribution model taking Absolute Sounds out of the chain.

The Wine Society have reduced the price of hundreds of different wines to reflect the fall in value of the € against the £

That's because they are a co-operative owned by their members, including yours truly and presumably your good self. Whereas Naim are owned by money grabbing venture capitalists aiming to make as much cash as possible.

But even they cannot escape the law of demand and supply. But anyway nowadays the nac 272 is a reflection of the market reality. And so are improvements in 200dr and 250dr.

Makes sense. Pricing seems to be set to what the market will bear.

And some French dealers are prepared to give discounts of up to 25%, which makes you think... I was offered a CDX2 for 5,000 euros (new, straight from the distributor, not demo, not second hand) not very long ago, instead of 6,500 euros. The dealer's argument? "Times are hard...". I should have ordered one, but I felt I had to be reasonable...
