Just feeling happy .....

Posted by: Stu22 on 01 December 2015

..... That my new rig consisting of a N272/250DR/XPSDR/Kudos C20 is sounding rather wonderful.  Not sure what component stands out, they all just seem to blend superbly and enjoy each other's company.

I am a month in now and the system seems to just get ever so slightly better every time I listen.  Not saying that I have the best or have a system that wil suit everyone but in the context on my desire to achieve top class musical reproduction in the most minimalist way possible, this does it for me.

Couple of Powerlines in the new year to finish things off.

Good recomendation HH.

Hi Stu,

Nice and that is what it is all about, being content and enjoying the music your system plays.

Glad to hear it is going well. Just taken delivery of my 272/250dr to pair with my PMC 20.24, pretty happy so far! LP12 arriving next week hopefully to complete the set.

We sometimes lose touch with reality here.   By any definition you have a superb music playing system there - indulge in it.

Oh and yes PLs will make it even better!

Stu, You have a lovely system that is more than capable of producing memorable musical experiences. Enjoy every minute! ????

Ah, Stu, you have brought a smile to my face, as I fend off an evil cold thing with the help of Kronenbourg 1664. I've had my system running a couple of months now, and like yours it gets better and better, in fact it's just bloody great. I had the pleasure of hearing some C20s when I visited Trickydickie and they are lovely speakers: different to my SL2s, but lovely nonetheless.

Over £10,000 for the three boxes, plus speakers, is a lot of money, but for the performance you get it's great value.

Here's to many happy hours listening to music.

Agree guys and thanks. I am just enjoying the music, nothing more and nothing less. Simple as that.

HH - hope that cold gets better soon. I like your taste in hifi and beer ;0)

Ah yes....

Just got the email today that my 272/250DR has landed at my dealer, so hoping for much beer and appreciation, of the music delivery of course.

It's like the feeling I had before upgradiritis started. I had a CDX2 a 282, a 200 and my Verity Audio Sarrastros and it sounded so much fun. Now I am even more happy, but I have also have become more critical on little details. So keep on enjoying what you have....

Good choice. Tracker is also worth checking out ; the duet with Ruth Moody is sublime.

Congratulations Stu, enjoy the music, may Naim continue forever to make the best hi-fi in the world

Music played on my Naim system always puts a smile on my face and makes me feel lucky that I was able to buy a Naim system, and thanks to that hi-fi dealer in UK who first introduced me to Naim.

Thanks for the tip.. I will listen later. All the Roadrunning has a few gems as well as some medicare tracks with Knopfler singing duets with Emmylou Harris.

All The Roadrunning. Brilliant album I've recently come across. I found Knopfler and Emmylou a fantastic pairing of voices.

My favourite MK solos are Kill to get Crimson, the Ragpickers and Shangri.

I've got all the MK & DS stuff.   I fully admit to being a fan mainly because I knew him before he formed DS.  I find it strange that a lot of peeps, mostly so called hifi aficionados,  are derisive of both DS & MK's later works.  OK some is better than others,  but what's so bad ???

I agree - she has a gorgeous voice - perhaps you can get on prescription??

On All the Roadrunning - my favourite tracks are

  • This is Us
  • Red Staggerwing (love the timing on that)
  • Donkey Town
  • Belle Starr
  • If this is Goodbye

Very few of his albums are on Tidal or Spotify. Fortunately, Amazon is winging me a copy of Golden Heart for $10 delivered to my door.

Thanks David.

I like Golden Heart as well, particularly the title track and the Sonny Landreth collaboration.
