RIP- Cornell Dupree

LA Times - Versatile guitarist worked with Aretha, Paul Simon, Miles Davis and Lena Horne.  Called Mr 2,500 as reference to the number of recordings he participated in.  Rooted in Texas Blues he had and individual style.  He did the sliding lines at beginning of "RESPECT".  Spent 60s at Atlantic Records,80's was member of a jazz-funk band called Stuff. They backed Paul Simon, Joe Cocker and John Lennon, and others.

 

I'll have to look him up on albums.
