The Omega Incabloc Oyster Accutron 72
Man, what a creation!
It’s a mine of information
A vernier scale, the date in braille

Sidereal time, the rate of crime
And the growth of population

It’s got more jewels than Princess Grace
Buckminster Fuller designed the case

Leonardo engraved the face
And did the calibration

And those knobs and screws and toggles
The imagination boggles

A Tag Heuer Link Automatic Chronograph - sometimes - a 40th birthday present from my wife, but most of the time just a iPhone..

Nokia 6370

Tag Heuer I bought, a Rolex and a  Dive Dynamics I got from my work and various others are in a cupboard somewhere..

I used to like my watches but those were better days.

I tend to take the time form various MSFAnthorn tuned wall clocks around the house or NTP / IRIG-B or whatever is available at work..

I wear a Sinn 756s UTC. It's equipped with everything a modern watch needs: date, chronograph and a 2nd time zone.

Still the same antiques!

On the left is a 1905 British Army [not] issued "Eterna" with nickel case that keeps a minute a week fast - my daily watch - and on the right is a large patern JW Benson silver "Ludgate" [best London make, "TM"] that keeps remarkable time. Not adjusted since BST in the Spring ... Sunday best watch. Fortunately neither are quite pristine, so easily enjoyed and used everyday for what they are - easily visible sufficiently accurate timepieces!

The Benson is over 120 years old. And with its massive gilt brass plates and silver case is three ounces in weight. Possibly amazing to those unused the the notion is that a great English watch can keep such good time so many generations after it was made  in England...

Tag Heuer monza chrono, the special edition one without the Tag prefix visible anywhere on the watch. Reminds me of the glory days of formula one. Every time i see that Heuer logo I can't help but hum the bass line from fleetwood macs "the chain". Not the most expensive watch in the world, but it looks great whether your in a suit or in jeans and a t shirt.

I still enjoy wearing my Omega Seamaster purchased back in 1984 during weekends for its ability to never get damaged despite using all sorts of machinery around the home.  During the week I use a nice gold Citizen Eco Drive that suits my office environment.

My best weekend watch is a Raymond Weil Tradition.

What a nice topic this is. Really a joy to read and have a look at all those beautiful watches. I'm in the market for my first "serious" watch and considering a TAG Heuer Formula 1.

Any experience on this watch?

Regards,

Michel

Having extolled the virtues of my own a little while back, it recently stopped working!

Figuring needs new battery. Took it into local dealer who said battery replacement costs £60(!) and gets sent off to TAG

TAG then come back and say still not working with new battery and needs service overhaul (3 years old) with total cost now £260...

Is this the norm..?

Just get it back and buy a new battery.

If it does not then work look at your options.

Boots do the same battery or you local shoe bar will have one for loads less and fit.

Or just find one online.

This sort off thing makes me so mad.

Stu - it needs to go back to a manufacturer approved service centre ( sounds like Naim ) as they'll make sure its resealed correctly. Worth it for peace of mind.

For that money you could get a good new watch!

Some great watches in this thread.

For me - depends on my mood, what I'm wearing and what I'm doing.  The ones that tend to get worn the most from the collection are the Glycine Combat 07, Mondaine Auto and Stowa KS.

Jaeger-le- Coultre Master Date was the first watch I bought for myself. Previously a Tag Heuer base model gifted by Mum, for an alleged diver's watch it seemed remarkably vulnerable to water. The last attempt at a service resulted in me retaining the body for sentimental value but the cost of repair would have exceeded the original price.

The J-l-C was worn for many years but it is really a little delicate and so I opted for something chunkier for when I wasn't sure whether I would be likely to dent the body through my cackhandedness.  So, over time (no pun intended), I have a coke can GMT II and a Submariner. It's all vanity, but where would be without some vices?
