Naim Choice.....

Posted by: Rich27 on 19 May 2011

Great news, I presume this will appear in the near future on the NDX......

Naim has today introduced a new internet radio menu option called Naim's Choice across all its products offering internet radio: NDX, NaimUniti and UnitiQute. Naim's Choice lists recommended stations, as chosen by Naim for their quality of sound and music selection. Naim's Choice also launches with a new higher quality 320kbps Radio Paradise stream which is exclusive to Naim.

Over 17,000 internet radio stations are available from the NDX, NaimUniti and UnitiQute and as such it can sometimes be difficult to find the very best content. Naim’s Choice provides an easy access to a selection of the best stations available, as chosen by Naim for their quality of sound and musical content.

Naim's Choice can be added to as more of the extensive range of available stations are evaluated. Suggestions of new stations for Naim's Choice can be posted on the Naim forum.

NDX, NaimUniti and UnitiQute owners are not required to update their units to enable this new feature as Naim's Choice will automatically appear in the internet radio menu of their units from 19th May.

This sounds like a great feature. However how do you find it on the ndx?

No sign of this in the radio listings on my Qute yet. The 19th is almost over. Can anyone else find this in their listings?

And what about the iRadio update for the HDX??

Still nothing

why do Naim bother to facebook it, get several comments to say it doesn't seem to work and not bother to respond?

Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?

Naim didn't state the year in their announcement.....May that be the reason why it does not appear on my NDX as of today?

Can't find it myself either.

Posted on: 20 May 2011 by Jon Myles
Go on, somebody give me a clue. Where is it? Or am I thick (Don't answer that!!!)
Posted on: 20 May 2011 by Develyn

Checked, not on my list.

Posted on: 20 May 2011 by Phil Harris

OK, Ok Guys...

It won't be on your lists - this is something that was planned for launch at the end of this week and is still being finalised but unfortunately a disconnect between our PR department and R&D meant that someone excitedly hit the button and the press release went up before the service went live.

We are planning that the service will go live asap though - I would say that an official PR announcement will be issued when it does but maybe that's not appropriate now...

Hope this helps explain things...

Phil

No apology and they haven't even taken down or edited the news item.

Badly done Naim, badly Naim.

Good job the NDX is so awesome!

...but, on a more positive note, Radio Paradise is really good. It's not at 320kbs yet, but still sounds very nice on the mighty NDX.

There seems to be quite a bit of this happening at the moment, sadly.

2011, when world ends 2012 according to Maya calendar..

Well we are still here, hopefully I can update you in the morning the expected eta, as for the criteria, so far just some stations we enjoyed listening to for the music content and quality of stream. It will be a fluid list which we will take suggestions from you all to build a hot list. We are thrilled to have worked with Radio Paradise to offer the 320kbps stream.

Hi Phil,

Thankx for your quick reply. Could you please be a bit more specific regarding the timeframe: next month, within two months, by the end of the year ...

Some people are really waiting for a very long time for this feature to be released.

Regards,

Michel

I'm sorry but I am not at liberty to give timescales on this - there will be appropriate announcements and press releases made at the appropriate time.

Cheers

Phil
