UnitQute internal temp question

Posted by: ChanYee on 21 May 2011

Is it normal to have a temp of 44C?

UQ has been in " mute" for over 8 hours.

During the winter it was hovering around 32-34C but lately it's been in the 44C range.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

As the ambient temperature increases I would expect the temperature of the Qute to increase as well. Just checked mine and it is at 40C from 34C in the winter.

Whats your room temp during winter??
Posted on: 22 May 2011 by badlyread

Cold corner of the house and I insist on everyone wearing an extra jumper rather than turning the heating up . (The temp will drop significantly during the night when the  heating is off - it is only on for about 5 hours a day in the winter).

Never even noticed that feature before. But just checked and its 30C, its been on mute unused all weekend.

I've been playing my Qute all day and it varies between 50 and 55. I don't think I've ever checked when it has been unused. I guess I would have to allow it to go unused first. :-)

Which input?

Seems to be some differenses here but i think 30 to 55 is to much... Mine is allways btw 40 and 45 no mather how i use it. Can some naim repr comment this?

I normally turn the VOL down & switch the input to CD which is un-hooked when i put the UQ to mute.

I have never seen it at 17/18C even during the winters. How is that possible.

40+C at idle really is quite hot and inefficient! Naim's comment on this is most welcome..

I was referring to the room temp. Temp of UQ has been down to the low 30s.

I believe that I read somewhere that it is best to select 'Analogue' when not in use as this turns off the digital circuitry. And mute obviously.

I'm almost always on analog, and mine idles at 45 or so.. When playing vinyl, it goes up to 50-55.
