TQ Black Interconnect woes

Posted by: dayjay on 10 December 2015

I bought a TQ Black interconnect this week to go between my Hugo and SN2.  There was nothing wrong with the Chord Anthem Reference that was already there but I wanted to see if there was any synergy with the TQ Black speaker cables that I have and love and I figured that if it isn't as good I can always use it on my tuner.  I put them in on Monday and there was an immediate increase in bass and what seems like a lot more detail but it has been a series of ups and downs ever since with flashes of brilliance interspersed with an in your face sound that I find a little irritating.  Has anyone any experience with these, and in particular does anyone know if there is any kind of run in period or is what I currently have the end state?  Quite annoying because at time it sounds brilliant but at other times a little wearing.  Any views welcome.

Has anyone run this system enhancement CD? Its available as a WAV download, just curious, below is the Product Description. Alchemy or does it have a point??

Product Description

Most music follows a form that can be calculated with a fourier transform analysis and time frequency analysis indicating it is not random, which simply means that your system can get into a “rut”. Like going to a gym and training only a few specific muscles for years and then wondering why your body is out of balance. This recording takes your system through a full workout of frequencies and tonal changes that is specifically designed to stretch your system’s components and bring new life into your music.
We place equal importance on all frequencies and even go into deep bass in a way that sub woofers will benefit from while working up through mids into the upper high frequency ranges in a non-sequential , non- Fourier way. There are also no pure ratio intervals to allow your system to slouch while it is having its work out. This is also one of the prime reasons that music played normally is slow to burn in components compared to this tool. Music does not cover your system’s range in a way that exercises the components sufficiently in a mechanical, electronic and magnetic sense to burn in your various components as efficiently.

Most here will concede that a system does need to burn in to sound as it should , most of these types of enhancement tests are supposed to burn in and condition further than our limited music collections can offer.

Yes I have the CD. Used it on my CDX2 and TQ interconnect and speaker cables. I have to admit I was very skeptical about any influence it may have. But after running the disc through the difference was clear to hear, especially with the diamond IC

Thanks Adam, Tobyjub and Finkfan thats interesting on the replies, so it does introduce a form of sound cleansing/washing by playing high/mid/low frequencies not normally played back with our regular music, and has been noticed to make a difference.

I think I might download, new 272/250DR with NACA5 at the moment with a Melco arriving soon, be interesting to playback these files from that Melco after initial playback, or in fact listen as it is and then playback theses files and re-listen for any improvement, then playback with Melco in place and then finally playback these files through the Melco and see if we have that stepped increases in playback (small increases in air around the playback, tighter bass and better connection between low/mids/highs).

I do wonder though if we are over thinking it all, but in my line of work it takes 100% extra effort to make that extra 1-2% difference to your final finished product :-)

EDIT : have those who purchased this CD/download left it running while out or at work during the day to keep burning in your cables/systems? Does it make sense to play these files all day while out rather than my own collection for that burn in process?

I've tried both when burning in my new Ovators S-400. Day 1 and and 2: played track 2 from the CD on loop whilst out at work.
Over the course of next few weeks I've created various playlist (soft and hard) and played those while at home or at work.

Every now and then used track 3 from the TQ disk to 'refresh' the system.

Yeah I looped mine over night. And give it the 10min 'yoga session' every once in a while.
