DSD files for DAC and DAC V1 DSD software update.

Posted by: Peet on 11 December 2015

Firmware update 4.11.8 (Naim DAC) and 1.16 (DAC-V1) will enable single and double rate DSD playback to existing and new DAC and DAC-V1 owners. This update has required significant optimisation of the core DSP code which has also improved sound quality.

 the iFi micro idac 2 sampler is an excellent collection of same source files in DSD,  WAV and Flac.

Btw. the coupon code is; ifimicroidac2 . or €3

iFi SamplerSampler download here;  http://www.soundliaison.com/

Native DSD has some very reasonable priced Samplers €8

And on HD Tracks UK, we have Footloose, ONLY available in DSD, for £14... but until the Naim servers start to serve DSD to the streamers, DSD will remain something of a curiosity rather than a serious music source for me.

I am afraid that streaming DSD still has  a long way  go. But I welcome it as downloads.

The interesting track on the iFi sampler is the Impromptu track;

[qoute]So just to clarify; Our DSD masters are not original studio masters.
We record in PCM, so if you want a native one to one copy of the original studio master, without any kind of conversion, choose the PCM download.
With one exception, Impromtu (Tony Overwater & Bert van den Brink), was recorded direct to PCM and direct to DSD with two seperate recorders.[/qoute] http://www.soundliaison.com/dsd-sl
