Using UPS with a Naim server

Posted by: Col on 12 December 2015

I've purchased a UPS (APC CS350) to use with my NS01 server and would like to set it up to provide a controlled power down in the case of an extended power outage.  Can anyone guide me through the setup using APS Powerchute for a mac (or does it have to be windows?)

Thanks

Forget my previous post - I've deleted it

Looking around www   is seems their is no software for APC products which work on Apple.

Presumably for the server to have a controlled shut down it would need to communicate directly with the UPS, I don't see how another device could help in this scenario?

My APC UPS communicates with my NAS via USB to tell it when to shut down if the mains power is out and the battery is near to exhaustion. No setup was needed, just plug and play so no computer needed. Unless the NS01 has this ability (check with Naim) then the only thing the NAS will give you is enough time to shut the NS01 yourself if there is a power cut.
