It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.
Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.
I like your stands, which do look a lot like Skylan. I will say no more about the Something Solid....

This year I have decided to go with NDX and SN2 with Harbeth C7 and be happy. My analog source, I got the new platform to help with isolating the vibration and making it look better.
This picture below is from before:
Happy New Year to all...enjoy the music.

NAIM727CA, what a great looking system. Who would have thought, a Fraim within a frame! Does the Fraim sit on top of the other frame? The turntable looks gorgeous, bet it sounds great too.

Last year's major change was 252 to 552DR which was massive. I've also just completed the end of year strip down and rebuild and took the opportunity to rearrange things slightly; the 300PS was moved to the bottom of the LH stack with the two 555s now on the bottom two shelves of the RH stack. It all looks neater and certainly sounds better though some of that improvement may be as a result of the power down and plugging in/out of all the cables.
Happy listening folks!

Space optimisation (fitting it all in) required Fraim layout sub-optimisation... So here is my sideways Fraim in the
context of the listening area. (sorry, no feet... camera lens is not that wide !)

Awesome, RJ. Suspect you don't need any auxiliary heating in your listening room

I really enjoy browsing through all these different systems and room setups, so please let me contribute some pictures of my listening area right next to the dining table / work desk table.
Most of the time I listen to music while doing some work or having dinner - this is when I choose convenient replay from my MacBook. For dedicated music listing on my listing chair or with friends coming over, I prefer vinyl.
Usually I listen at very moderate volume (9am on the volume knob, max 10) and prefer speed, timing and a nice vocals over deep bass, thus the 2-way bookshelf speakers. And in my eyes they look much nicer in this small listening area compared to the ones I had before.
Please feel free to comment - cheers, p.

Wonderful room, but I can't imagine browsing through your records on the floor behind the speakers is very convenient. Looks good, though. I love the speakers, stands and your long-and-low equipment rack; as well as the general style of the room.....

If this isn't extremely important, than any discussion of other microphonic effects on cables and solid-state electronics is perhaps pointless.

Thanks, winkyincanada! In fact browsing through the records works better then expected, but totally agree that this is not a perfect solution. Sometimes in the future I will have a carpenter build a proper LP shelf - until now I just keep my current favorite records in a dedicated stack in a convenient place

Nice room , high ceilings and low slung system. You must really like the XS Nait - having a maxed out 555 NDac source and Hicaped Superline for it.
I would recommend some large abstract oil paintings for your walls - I have some that you might like !

I would:
Not stack up nDAC nad Nait on top of each other
Try putting at least the nDAC nad NAIT on some glass shelves, placed on anti vibration thingies e.g. VibraPods - it should open up the sound

Nice minimalist setup - lots of potential. Are the speakers Atohm GT1s? If so how do they get along with the XS?

No changes in 2015, very happy with the system. 552 and 500 will require overhaul in 2016 as they are both first generation. DR upgrade is also in the plans.
As always, an amazing series of images Chris. All the best in the new year.

Chris.
your pictures are always amongst the most memorable both for the quality of your system and the beautiful room and location. I'm jealous!

Thanks for your comments, TOBYJUG! Until now I´ve primarily invested in better sources + speakers and I´m astonished to hear how capable the Nait XS is, I really enjoy my current setup. Once the upgrade bug visits me again, let´s see what happens (SN2? 272? 282? 252?).
Two abstract oil paintings already live on the rear wall ;-) The front wall between the speakers will be used for a video projector, just a small and simple solution...

Totally right Adam, the shelf really is a weak point. The carpenter is working on a new solution, hope it will be ready in the next weeks and I will then start evaluating the effects of glass shelfs and other anti vibration solutions.

Thanks, ICONOCLAST. The speakers are custom made by my NAIM dealer:
Scan-Speak tweeters same model als used in old NAIM speakers (SBL, DBL...)
Scan-Speak midwoofer 15W/9531 G01 paper cone reinforced with wood fibre
Crossover with Mundorf Supreme silver-gold-oil Caps
The dealer also offers Ovators, B&W, Kudos and some other brands, but for my ears and music his custom made series gives me the most listening pleasure.
