It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.
Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.
Just a snap on the iPad, which took all of two seconds! It's already sounding rather good.

I assume this is the new super lumina interconnect that would replace a hiline 5pin-5pin. If so, does it fit easily and snug?
my hiline inserts easily onto my olive cds 2 but I really had to push hard to insert the other end onto my 52- and it still doesn`t quite fit all the way in as compared to the connection to the cds. I always felt that at it`s price, the hiline should fit perfectly- and it doesn't.

Something will start itching, surely? Just give it a few months

oops, just realized this is a din-xlr interconnect. Still, does the din end fit nicely?
Posted on: 08 January 2016 by hungryhalibut
It fits beautifully, as you'd expect for the price.... Roger, the next itch to scratch is a new kitchen and carpet for the hall, stairs and landing.

Sadly, owing to the rear central upright on the Fraim, neither the super lumina nor the hiline will fit in a NAC52 on a Fraim unless the NAC52 is on the top shelf - and in my case that space is taken by the LP12.

Nigel,
Have you decided on the SL XLR-DIN4 over the Witch Hat version? If so what swung it for you.
Posted on: 09 January 2016 by hungryhalibut
I've bought it, with the option to return for a refund if I don't like after a couple of weeks. The cable has an amazing sense of realism and naturalness that the Witch Hat does not quite have, even though it's already significantly better than the stock lead. Whether there is a synergy with the SL speaker cables I don't know, but the two together have given everything an incredible lift. I won't say any more about it on this thread, as this is the place for pictures.

Some fabulous rooms on this thread. Here's my humble system, down sized quite a lot over the past couple of years, now SN2 at the heart of my system

You're welcome. The system and room look great - simple is good!

My submission for 2016 reflecting recently added 300 DR / 252 system and Chord Hugo TT. The Eames chair is also new and the photo's are a little skewed to show off the chair probably more so than they system LOL

Nice System, just sight seeing, and happen to run across your gear!
Those 802's look like they can take 700 watts, I see why in the back of your mind you're thinking bi amping with 500's.
Looked up power recommendation B&W suggest 50-500, 1 horsepower is ok, pull the trigger!!!! LOL......

ZHB - looks like a cool and comfy place to hang out!

I hope you don't mind me saying so but I absolutely love the organised clutter!
The Eames Lounge Chair is perfectly matched with the veneer of your speakers.
A lovely man cave!

Nice chair I have to make do with LeCorbusier...

I should have mentioned before, Innocent, the flat screen is the display for the NS01, but I only switch it on while ripping CDs to check progress (should have done for this pic)... oh, and it also doubles up as a TV

Not at all.. I think organized clutter is pretty much what I am going for. It's not a huge room so I try to balance getting all the stuff in there while trying to create an acoustically reasonable space.

The idea of bi-amping has been relegated to the back burner after my somewhat disastrous trials with a NAP300 and also a NAP300 DR the last couple of days.
Plan B has swung into action - I've ordered a DR upgrade for my 552 and have borrowed a S/L din to XLR set and a Sarum S/A set to connect 552 & 500, with a view to selecting one of them. ...oh, and I'm in negotiation with SWMBO about a cut in housekeeping in order to save more quickly for the 500 DR upgrade

Roger,
Really looking forward to your comparisons of The S/L din to XLR set and a Sarum S/A set to connect 552 & 500. As I imagine I will do the same some time.

Evening Gents, and Happy New Year. It's been a while.....
Always bad to look at this forum as it makes me want to buy new HiFi bits!
My system remains largely unchagned really since the last shots. UnitiQute in the sideboard, and hard drive feeding all my burned CD's, and a small project Phono Stage for the LP12. Also a Nap 100 and some SBL's to complete the package. Excuse the photo quality they're iPhone under subdued evening lounge lighting. I may swap the Qute for a Uniti with CDP, but need to explore if it'll offer everything the Qute does, and still work with my Nap as I like how it looks next to the Sondek. Obviously there is another SBL hidden too!
The keen eyed among you may notice the Johnny Cash Postcard photo that I picked up while I was in the Leica store SF. There was a cool exhibition (I forget the name of the photographer now) but he had some awesome shots of Hendrix, the Stones, and Cash.

It'd make a good display for album sleeve notes, images, lyrics etc when streaming!
