System Pics 2016

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.

Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

Some fabulous rooms on this thread. Here's my humble system, down sized quite a lot over the past couple of years, now SN2 at the heart of my system

How does the sbt sound through the little CA dac.

Always bad to look at this forum as it makes me want to buy new HiFi bits!

My system remains largely unchagned really since the last shots.  UnitiQute in the sideboard, and hard drive feeding all my burned CD's, and a small project Phono Stage for the LP12.  Also a Nap 100 and some SBL's to complete the package.  Excuse the photo quality they're iPhone under subdued evening lounge lighting.  I may swap the Qute for a Uniti with CDP, but need to explore if it'll offer everything the Qute does, and still work with my Nap as I like how it looks next to the Sondek.  Obviously there is another SBL hidden too!

The keen eyed among you may notice the Johnny Cash Postcard photo that I picked up while I was in the Leica store SF.  There was a cool exhibition (I forget the name of the photographer now) but he had some awesome shots of Hendrix, the Stones, and Cash.

Nice but of cable dressing with the power lead.

Thanks

My friends really get annoyed by that, not sure why, they just don't appreciate my OCD

Also some lovely other systems on here, always inspires me (sometimes in a bad way to spend money and upgrade)

Moderated post:  I have sorted out the pics for you. I think the problem is that the hosting site is rather slow.

I really love this system.  One day when I move house I will revert back to a sick all Olive set up like this - one word = AWESOME

Very nice, as always. Why not have the 100 in the cupboard and the Qute on top? Much easier to use I'd have thought.

Hi Robert

to be honest haven't tried without so can't really give a thoughtful reply. With, however, I'm very please with it considering its very low cost base.

Hi Dave,

It's just a basic one, it's called a 'Project Phono Box E'.  I got it in the black finish.

Thanks Hungry.

Well I tried it with the Qute on top but I like the minimal appearance with the Nap on top.  Also I always operate the Qute via the app on my iphone so I rarely need to access the unit itself.

PS:  I cannot figure how you multi-quote hence the numerous separate replies.

Well my TT could do with a service I think and it didn't cost me an absolute bomb so i'm not too worried that the phono stage is 'holding it back' in terms of perfromance.  Perhaps when I get it serviced in the future I may look at an upgrade, but I am almost not as obsessed these days about squeezing the nth degree from my system, there are too many other limiting factors like placement and room acoustics, so I just try and enjoy it as it is these days, as it happens it does sound great still

My submission for 2016 reflecting recently added 300 DR / 252 system and Chord Hugo TT. The Eames chair is also new and the photo's are a little skewed to show off the chair probably more so than they system LOL

I hope you don't mind me saying so but I absolutely love the organised clutter!

The Eames Lounge Chair is perfectly matched with the veneer of your speakers.

A lovely man cave!

Zip,

Organized clutter- well said Mr. Field!

My room has a similar "feel",  including the chair and Vicoustic Wavewoods, but without the tribute to Jerry. Looks like a very comforting space- enjoy!

Just how it should be in my mind i realy think this hobby can be about whos got this and whos got that and sometimes you/ we /us forget its all about the enjoyment off music

and yes i know the better the item at reproducing the last bit off information but is it worth that price tag you paid !!!

Enjoy sorry for going off topic a bit

"The Sadly, owing to the rear central upright on the Fraim, neither the super lumina nor the hiline will fit in a NAC52 on a Fraim unless the NAC52 is on the top shelf - and  in my case that space is taken by the LP12."

I turned the rear frame bar 90 dergrese so that NAC52 can accept the hiline on the second from top shelf. This leaves the top shelf free for the nDac where I think it sounds best.

Nothing new here - LP12, 552, 300 in evening listening mode - Christmas decorations not to be seen after 6th, reappearing next Advent. Digital configuration to follow
