System Pics 2016

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.

Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

Resorted back to a simpler system, kept the UQ 192, NACA5 and Michell Gyrodec SE the rest now sold including my Allaes and parting with the Allaes was the hardest part having owned them for 12 years but the AE301 sound great and the UQ drives them with ease.

UQ on its own just rocks

Really like the simplicity of this system & how it integrates with the room. Top effort HIfiman!

Very happy with my "new" Kudos Titan88 !!!

This is a stunning system in a stunning room. Hopefully your couch is not touching the wall behind it to avoid unwanted reflections.

No, the couch is standing in the middle of the room. There are 4m behind.

My room isn't even 4m across - haha! Great room & system Grueni.

Those black Sopra 2s do look gorgeous though and from dealer demos I know they sound terrific too. No I mustn't, I need to get a 555DR for the NDS first. Don't I? I can feel myself weakening and am off to get myself a lottery ticket.

I must be missing something... there are so many posts applauding the good looks of these Sopra's, but in my opinion (and it's my  opinion), I can't recall seeing an uglier looking speaker.   Even my B&W 802's look pretty in comparison

(though I don't necessarily disagree with your assessment on the looks of the Sopra Nr2 :-) )

I also happen to think the Sopras are hideous, but I wouldn't say that to their owner, as it's just bad form. I often don't like the look of people's systems, or their decor, as I'm sure many people don't like my system or room. But if I don't like it, I just say nothing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I agree, I wouldn't publicly ever say the SBL' s look hideous, but your right everyone thinks they have the prettiest wife

Never was a truer word spoken (or posted) HH.

By the way, and just for the record, had I been talking about sound quality, my opinion of the Sopra's would be the complete opposite... wonderful, in fact.

Aargh! These are horrible - how could anyone have them in their room?

Interesting HH as I distinctly recall you taking a bit of a pop at some of my furniture in a previous thread. I think it was when I was trialling some US speakers around christmas time. IIRC your advice was to relocate a display unit into the garden . The unit stayed. The speakers didn't. Beauty is in the eye (and ear) of the beholder and all that.

Those lights are Original BTC I'll have you know! Nobody seems to like my Poole Pottery, and someone mistook the limited edition Carol Shields sculpture for a Star Wars figure. Ye gods!

Hi HH,

I happen to like the Poole Pottery vase on the right, next to the sculpture.
The SL2s aren't exactly an eyesore either.

Best regards, FT

You're not missing anything at all. As you say it is an opinion and we are allowed to have differing opinions. I won't say how I think the B&Ws look to me as Thumper may step in again.

Hi Zipperheadbanjo, apologies for delay in answering your question, the Sopras are about 35cm from back wall and about a metre from side wall, the actual listening room is about 6 mtrs x 7 mts approx.

Nice Poole HH - here is some more. It's making it into this thread since the shelves are in the same room as my Naim system
