System Pics 2016

Posted by: hungryhalibut on 15 December 2015

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.

Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

The Krystal is a beautiful cartridge!

As I've just recently entered the world of streaming I thought I'd pop a couple of photos of the new Unitiqute2 into the System Pics 2016 thread. The old chrome bumper Nait2 is now temporarily powered down, but at some point in the coming weeks I may explore using the 'Qute as a source into the Nait2...

Can I ask where your rack is from?

@ Artferg20… The rack is a recently completed self build. Fairly simple to do if a little time consuming on the finishing side of things: https://forums.naimaudio.com/topic/home-made-rack-pics

Artferg20, lovely system and nicely presented in the room. Plus, thoroughly envious off your Guru Juniors - they look just superb in white! Would love to try a pair with my ‘Qute.

System: Unitiqute2 & MCRU No 85 Cable - NACA4 - Monitor Audio R252.

Looks great - I am also impressed with the "Naim green" towel for the remote. Is that available on the Naim website?

And as to your Nait 2 being presently out of service, I will happily give you my address if you are in a gift-giving mood!

DrMark… I wondered if anyone would notice the colour choice of the cloth! The unofficial Naim MF cloth is widely available from a well known local car care outlet as a two pack. They have a deep-ish pile and are very soft for using on the metal case work and fascias. The 'heavy duty' title relates to their weight of cloth / depth of pile as opposed to how rufty tufty they are

I just don't know what to do with the chrome bumper Nait. Whether to sell or keep it. Sale funds could be put towards a power amp for the 'Qute, or I may keep hold of it and play with 'Qute as a source into the Nait? Not sure.

Yetizone - nice rack, nice colour cloth

As to the original Nait - my suggestion is to keep it. They don't make them like that anymore

Lovely, I used to have those exact same Gurus and loved them.  They sound just as good as they look

Well unless you are going to give it to me, I strongly recommend keeping it. They are becoming more and more rare on the S/H market. I believe I have seen more than one case of "seller's remorse" on the Forum after letting one go.

Could be the centerpiece in a lovely second system.

Thank you.

I should be collecting a S/H NAP150 this week, hopefully the final part of my puzzle.

Yeti- Don't sell the Nait!

I would put it on a pedestal and cover it with a glass top- that little box demonstrates everything that is great about Naim. It should have a shrine if not in use  !

Ah yes the elusive Guru Juniors.

@yetizone Very nice and right up my alley ,the white rack and the nait2 on display :-)

Re. selling the nait2, don´t do it.. use it in a secondary system or at least keep it powered up for that nice green glow from the logo.. ;-)

@ Magnus & Varyat. I think I’m going to hold on to the Nait2 for now. I definitely want to play with the ‘Qute as a source into the Nait to see how they gel. Then if it works will probably get it serviced and even upgraded internally perhaps.

First attempt at sharing a photo. Hope it works.

I just got a blank box Stuart - clicked on it, and got to your photo. Went to your one drive - clicked view original and copied the address of this photo from the toolbar and put it into the image insert box source and got this -

Thats odd, my picture came out under James N? Try again!

Ah, thanks James. Must try harder!

This might explain why I have just bought a new LP12 rather than a streamer! Bloody IT!!

Try again.

Ok, one last go using my Mac rather than the iPad. Fingers crossed.

No matter what Stuart.. You've got a lovely system!!!

Posted on: 05 July 2016 by Alco

It's actually quite easy Stuart, but I have to confess it was more easier on the previous Naim forum.

You can open a (free) account on Photobucket.com (very easy and you also can log-in with a Facebook account if you have one)
Then you upload your pics. (also very easy so for now I'll skip the explanation on how to do so)

Once you have uploaded a picture that you want to place in this topic, you can click on the little 'insert/edit image' (landscape) symbol above, here in this topic.
In the 'source' field you copy the URL of your picture, Then click op OK, and the picture will appear.

Like this... (just an example of one of my speakers)

I hope I made it a little more clear, as English is not my native language.

Thanks Alco. I thought that was what I was doing, but from my One Drive rather than Photobucket. At least James managed to rescue me.

some lovely systems on this years thread.

Your system ain't lookin' too shabby eather Stu!   I like the maple(?)/glass rack for your Naim system.
(and if memory serves me well, that's a Sound-Factory Tripod rack on the right. (I still have one of thoe TT isolation platforms somewhere)

Posted on: 05 July 2016 by stuart.ashen

Correct Alco!

this was my dream system bought circa 2004. No plans to upgrade the system other than the new Sondek. Just hope my SBLs continue to work without problems, I love them!

Dont think I have the IT skills to fly a streamer
