System Pics 2016

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.

Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

Zipperheadbanjo, Seattenaim, previously had Aria 926's then Focal Electra 1038Be, excellent speakers but lacked a little excitement, had these on dem not long after the Sopra2's were officially released and all I can say is WOW, I think they sound stunning, and to me they look stunning , they make me smile everytime I go in the listening room, as you can guess the speakers didn't go back to the dealer.... I would highly recommend them....and of course they work superbly with Naim boxes as you can imagine...

Yeah those Sopras sound awesome Wenger. I may have to pop round for another listen over the weekend

Yes set of Sopra No2 here also with 272/250DR plus Melco driving the WAVs. Happy combo, had 926s before also.

Yes set of Sopra No2 here also with 272/250DR plus Melco driving the WAVs. Happy combo, had 926s before also.

wenger, I have the Focal 1038be`s in very large room. Mine need to come out from the back wall about 3.5 feet. Close to wall did not sound as good in my room. Just curious if you were able to try your Sopra`s out more into the room.
Also, my room is so large that if I were to get the Sopra would have to get the 3s. Recent good review of the 3s in Hi FI Plus. I`m not going to listen to them as not planning on spending the big $ right now. Afraid I may like them too much. Meanwhile I am happy with the 1038s. I drive them with all olive 2 135s, 52, super. David

Hi Davidf, the Sopras are about 3ft from back wall, the picture is a little diseaving, I have tried them further out and they sound just as good either way, I'm sure the Sopra3's will sound superb, just don't have a demo because you won't want to send them back ...

As for the electra 1038's, I really liked them, it's just when I first saw the Sopras it was a Wow moment, and I don't normally get excited!!!!! So had a home dem and they had to stay.... Just need to upgrade the rack next, the cdx2's can be a little sensitive ....

Did the 6 monthly system strip-down and dusting earlier today.

Also, all my CD's are now ripped so there's a blatant gap in the full-with rack just begging to be filled with an XPS!
