System Pics 2016

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.

Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

My little set up will be putting a few hours in over the festive period!

I really like the walnut SBLs, they look just like the pair I used to own - nice to look at and nice sound too. And a rather nice looking LP12 with Aro too. I imagine that all works together rather well.

Yeah. And you can spend something every week if not careful!

Or you could avoid all that and just enjoy the music.

Do anyway

imageBamboo hat trick.

Is that my old 252 Keith or did you buy the 300? Can't remember which one to gaze at fondly.

Hi Harry,

Yes, that's your old 252, still sounding gorgeous

It's powered by an ex-demo non-DR Supercap.

The 300 was bought new. You sold yours too soon after the 252 for me to justify buying it at the time. Unfortunately, it's a late non-DR bought in March 2014.

So, if I upgrade I could DR the Supercap and/or the 300 or I could go the SL route (or I could improve the LP12).

I've arrived at a point where I'm no longer fixing problems, just improving (or leaving alone) a very fine system

It is indeed a very fine system which can be enjoyed perpetually (until service time) and where "improvements" are optional. It would be wrong to say that we miss our 252/3000 but we remember them fondly. They were superb at their price point. I'm just going to have a warm moment with our old 252 since you have provided me with the means to give it a little pat. We're so glad it went to a good home.

Looks fantastic Magnus. It will probably be a long month... my SN2 had a seemingly eternal run in. Well worth it in the end though!

Congrats, looks great.  It's an excellent amp, I love mine and will be auditioning a hicap dr on it later today

@Mayor West & Dayjay Thank's guys :-) I'm pretty tired today... I was so into the music that I forgot all about going to bed..

Yeah, a HiCap DR..? Maybe later..

Very nice system, I have SN2 already half a year and I can confirm it is great amp. Now I bought XPS DR to my NDX and next year I am planning Hicap DR.

Enjoy :-)

So just got myself a NAP150, so now i'm using the UQ as a PRE very impressed. Will be upgrading to a NAC-N 172 sometime in 2016. Oh and a xmas tree!!

From December 18, 2015

Hi,

That's a great looking system!  I'm sure it sounds fantastic too.  I think the UQ is really impressive for the price.

I've got a UQ too, and I'm just awaiting delivery of a NAP150, so I'll soon be running a very similar system.  I'm also thinking about a speaker upgrade next year, and I wondered what speakers you were using with your UQ/NAP150 combination.

I also think the green RP6 is one of the best looking turntables around.

Nothing really new at the moment, only a new 2 med. levels Fraim stack and the rest pretty empty

after the 282/HC-DR departure.

However a little voice told me that a  552 could be on my way  very soon.

I wish you all a great Christmas.

Hi Keith & Gary,

Thank you,

I' m running it in limp mode  with Nait XS only since the Nac departure

However with the new  Fraim with the cd mech alone atop plus minor tweaks to SL2

I' m really amazed how good it is.

Limp mode! Yikes.

Very stylish room Martin!

I like the Vicoustic panels you have placed. I did similar and was very surprised at the end result- nice!

Very nice set-up, Roberto.  I'm sure a 552 would fit into it very nicely indeed.
