System Pics 2016

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.
Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

A very elegant and contemporary interior complemented by the Mu-so QD there Pixies!

The stripes are off - either you change the wallpaper so it's sideways, or you need to lay the vase on it's side ![]()
Nice little scene there [@mention:1566878603952180]. I notice I. Your profile you've swapped your Custom Design rack for a Fraim. What gains did you hear? I have no rack at the moment and was considering a CD Milan rack

Id be interested as well as i'm considering the CD Milan rack.
Thanks Finkfan. Yes I did have a full Custom Design rack but decided to move over to Fraim Light because I liked its look and to keep to the all Naim theme. I can't say I've noticed any significant gains as a result, but I have made quite a few changes over the last few years that have all contributed to a better sounding system. Currently waiting for my Superlumina cables but reading other posts suspect their delay is due to some pressing quality control issues ![]()

Found a online brochure for custom design.
Converts resonance to heat using viscoelastic properties, giving inky blackness in the bass. What a load of bollocks.

Good to see you're back to your good old self after a short convalescence, Nigel.![]()

In their brochure metal, wood and glass were mentioned in the construction of these racks, but I saw no mention of animal matter.
Maybe we need to ask their chief designer Tess Tickles ![]()
Yes, and we may also need to refer to their co-designer, a Mr Beau Locke I believe.
The pair of them are nuts!

Indeed they do. They look like they'd be a perfect partner for the Qute.

I'm using a Milan rack, light oak and black glass:

Just few months went active with Allaes and last week added a 2nd HCDR.

I am very confused as to why I really like the look of a pair of bright orange speakers - but I do!. They look superb in that room. When I saw the orange Sopras in on-line marketing blurb, I thought they were rather vulgar, but seeing them in someone's room I get an entirely different impression.

That looks great! I like the fact its also housed as i'm not a fan off Hifi racks. To me the rack shouldn't be a focal point.

HDX is leaving, streamed music, definetely is not my bag. I find with it more hassles than convenience

Ciao Roberto,
early today I was cleaning up and singing along with music, very light hearted and feeling younger. I was playing vinyl.

Ciao Massimo, troppo pigro ormai per usare ancora il vinile-
Unfortunately I'm too lazy these days to consider vinyl as my main source, plus the obsession to mantain records as mint as possible.

I'm with you, however, CA being of zero interest to me.
What exactly is wrong with your HDX? What were the issues that left you so dienchanted with 'streamed music'?
