System Pics 2016

Posted by: hungryhalibut on 15 December 2015

It's that time of year again, so welcome to System Pics 2016. Let's hope it's a happy and healthy year for everyone.

Here's are a couple of pictures of my stuff to get us started: with the exception of a Powerline everything is changed since this time last year, even the carpet and paintwork.

Well, Adam, I think you see them in action, but you can't hear them ...

272, with XPS, 300DR, and full super lumina loom. I'm a happy bunny. Sounded amazing straight out of the box so I can't wait to hear it fully run in.

very nice Vitsoe 606 shelfs @REBURNER - beautiful room! And a nice stereo as well

Finally the new vinyl shelfs arrived, now I have all my vinyls, CDs and DVDs in one place and some good room treatment with improved bass as well - sorry the socks did not make it on the picture though

Guten abend P.  Nice new shelves,  but have you thought about something soft to absorb all those hard surfaces.    I really do appreciate the beauty of wood,  but bare wood floors don't do much for hifi room reverb.

My S600s were demos and didn't come with these. I have drilled out the plastic on the standard NACA5 connectors such that the pins can adopt the correct (wider) spacing. But I'm guessing that the pins themselves are different? The standard pins aren't a very secure fit in the S600s. Any idea? Should I be chasing up the "correct" connectors.

The pins are different and worth getting ime Winkyincanada.

Good evening Mike-B - good point, maybe I will find a rug I like, right now the aesthetic considerations are stronger than the acoustic ones

But remember that white is the new green, so you are already ahead of the curve.

Is it the child-proofness?

The wide-dispersion?

The Naim-ideosyncracy?

The plugs?

The looks?

The fact that they are not produced anymore?

The weigth?

The linearity?

Don't know. Something.

Wrong topic, sorry.

Onviously not the sound

IB is a very gifted person and does sharp observations. Given the name Innocent Bystander he is also aware of it. Made me smile.

I have made my decision to buy my Supernait 1 with my mind. I did audition it, but is was precisely what I expected.

I'm now in the process to get new speakers. Given all the parameters, I end up with Ovators - without having auditioned them (yet).

Nxt year, I'm likely to have a project in London and I will try to find a dealer where I can audition them and probably buy them.

I will start a topic on this early next year to have some feedback to my parameters why I like Ovators.
