Single track replay only on NDS.
Posted by: dave marshall on 22 December 2015
Hi,
This afternoon, my NDS seems determined to play only the initial track on any album selected.
This is happening whether using the UPNP input for music ripped to my NAS, or selecting Tidal.
Up till now, choosing an album, and selecting the first track would play the entire album, without the requirement of creating a playlist.
Any ideas?
Dave.
Hi,
Just as an update, as above, the NDS, via n-Stream, refuses to play anything other than individual tracks, but I've now noticed that the "now playing" screen refuses to load up, again, in both Tidal and UPNP as above.
I've tried rebooting the router to no avail, so is this most likely to be a problem with the app, which was recently updated, together with the latest iOS update?
Any thoughts chaps?
Dave.
It happens with my NDS now and then. I just turn off the 555PS and then back on again and it seems to work.
Ay, Caramba!
Everything back to normal.
Nice one TN.
Dave.
Dave,
I used to get this problem after my NDS has been powered up for several weeks (likely 2-4). Power cycling it fixed the issue, temporarily.
It's now stopped doing this which I think I can attribute to one of the firmware updates. But then as you mention Tidal I assume you are using the latest NDS firmware. Curious.
Hi Graham,
Sounds likely, as the whole system is powered up pretty much all the time, and yes, both n-Stream and the NDS firmware are the latest versions.
Hands up, I'm not the most savvy in all things networking, so am not too concerned with knowing why this should happen, or, for that matter, why this simple fix sorts things out. (Life was simpler with CD's!)
Anyway, it's all good.
Dave.
P.S. Still deciding about the Super Lumina XLR's. There's no doubt that the introduction of both the interconnect and speaker cables has been well worthwhile. My concern is that the right channel XLR between the 555 PS and the 300 seems to me to be under slight tension in my two stack setup, so was hoping that the Super Lumina version might be just a teensy bit longer.
The only thing I regret when I bought my S1 pre was that I moved to the SL XLRs at the same time. Naim basically pulled out all the stops to deliver the 6 cables (active) along with my S1 pre so it would have seemed ungrateful not to install immediately. Of course the net result of that is that I don't know how much of an improvement they made, although the resulting sound was grin worthy!

I'll bet!
I have every three months the same problem and it's resolved by putting the 555PS out for a while as already suggested. Sometimes I also have these problems after adding some music, don't know why.
As it happens only about every three months it's ok with me.
