Naim Statement issue

Posted by: MDFdude on 25 December 2015

Hi there,

Merry Christ & Happy New Year.

I took delivery of a set of Naim Statement a couple of months ago. The set has been running 24/7 since then. My issue is that listening to it literally gives me a mild headache. Only one other component has done this to me. I am really at a loss on how this can be.

Need some advice. Anyone with similar experience at all.

I did some experiment swapping amps with other brands & discovered that the is the NAC S1 is the likely culprit. Kind of frustrated as I auditioned a friend's full suite of Naim 500 series & found the system to sound magical. He & I share the same speakers - the ProAc Carbon 8.

Help.

the current classic range boogies for me

i haven't heard CB or olive kit

Goodmorning analog, at least over here!

Yes, you havn't heard the CB & Olive era, but quite familiar with the Black Box era, and if I recall correctly, you're not to fond of my 250.2.

To slow, can't control The low end, and grip the Bass like your 250DR (the DRed Black era), and as you say, The current classic range still boogies.

So there you go, you're acclimating to the New Naim Sound!

Is that Bad?

Or is that Change, for The Better!!!!

the 250.2 I heard in my home was good with a 282/HCDR - I convinced myself I just wanted the DR version, that's all.

Me to, I just can't afford it right Now!

Me, You, and Naim are on the same page!

A hybrid between Flat Earth & Round Earth!

I havn't heard the 250DR, but I have heard the Statement, hosted by the Esteem Manu!

By all means, put it on your to do list!!!!

Remember the quote on Change!

Allante, as good as the 250 Dr is, the source still is what is driving it through the preamp.

Do you have an XPS on the CDX2?

No, struggling to get back to an Active System!  but you are correct, as we speak I'm scanning the 2nd hand market for four items, which ever suits my pocket the best will win me over!

Living Room: Flat Earth>Cdx2>282>HCDR>3 x 250.2>Fraimlite>Briks

1.  SCDR

2.  Snaxo 362

3.  XPS2 DR

4. 555PS

Family Room: Round Earth System> Emotive Dac > Primare Pre 30>Arcam P1 mono Blocks>Vienna Acoustic Baby Grands> Audioquest King Cobra XLR IC's Throughout!

Rec Room System: For those that don't have a clue, > Emotiva UMC ! > Arcam FMJ > Klipsch

All three System controlled by Android Cell Phone while lying in Bed, with remote app.

MM>Airport Extreme> Airport Express> to all three Systems!

That's it!!!!!!

Naim’s Evolving Sound!

Naim is doing what any reputable company would do, Change.

It’s a very competitive market, if Naim stayed with that upfront, boogie factor, that was so prominent in the CB & Olive era, we may very well be partaking in another Forum!
