As long as you're enjoying the music, it's all about the music.

A rather curious announcement. I wonder what sort of response MP-W expected it to provoke? Please buy back your Naim system?!

I have never liket Naim as A produkt onley for the Sound. Had a lot of problems with my CD5 i and XS. Then 200/202/FlatcapXS/CD5XS but never satisfied. Naim should be made i China for stability and lower price. It is not valut for the money, sorry to say.

Just sold the last of my Naim, frequent returns to Salisbury and their attitude to the Unitiserve was the final straw.

Posted on: 26 December 2015 by Don Atkinson

Oh dear. None of this sounds like good news.

I have found one or two items more to my taste than Naim and with good manufacturer's support as well.

But Naim's equipment, support and servicing has been second to none. And their sound has always been up there with the best, depending on your taste.

Dealers, on the other hand, do vary quite a lot and so do Importers/Distributors, so perhaps that is where some of these problems lie and Naim would do well to investigate - which I'm sure they will.

I really don't see the point of these threads. It's like the posters are saying 'I'm better than you, I can see that Naim is rubbish, ha ha you fools, you don't realise'.

Not everyone likes Naim and there are loads of viable alternatives I'm sure.

Usual response is " goodbye , don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way out" !

neither do i, but it generates a lot of Forum traffic and perhaps that is the point...

It's MPWs money and he takes his choice.

I like Rega too and time will tell whether he has taken the right course for him.

Rega pound for pound are not the equal of Naim to my ears, but apparently top-notch Naim kit can cause headaches so maybe you are better off with something else. If Naim stopped making the right noises my next port of call would be Audio Note.

Fine but why post, why not just make the change?    C.

Well ken, Christopher, ( and others) I guess we are being enlightened to other opportunities.

The forum is a place of enlightenment after all !

But I think people could be a lot more gracious with their parting enlightenment!

On Christmas Eve, someone bought some Barefoot Shiraz round. We were drinking white, but as they wanted red, I gave them a glass. After they'd gone I poured out a glass for myself. It was so bad that I tipped it, and the rest of the bottle, down the sink. Do I go on the Barefoot website and tell them that their wine is no good? No, I don't.

I find Naim goes well with Georges du Boeuf Fleurie.

Mind you, it's taken two bottles of this for me to be sure, and I'm on the very last of it now.

I'm not sure I'd be trusting anything labelled 'barefoot'... it's too descriptive of the way some folks prepare their grapes for fermentation.  (I'm remembering the Lucile Ball episode... and showing my age too)

You should have saved the bottle for ''boeuf bourguignon''.  It is very effective as a beef tenderizer

As we don't eat meat, I did consider it as a screen wash for the car, but feared for the paintwork.
