So that's why their shares have plummeted!

Did you get a good return on your Naim to apply on your Rega?
Enjoy your Rega!
And may you have a prosperous new Year!

No, I don't.
Barefoot :-)
We frequently vacation in Florida and often find Barefoot in the wine shops down there for about $4.00 per bottle. Never had the courage to try it.
HH... hope the purveyor of the Barefoot isn't a Naimee and likely to read the forum LOL.

Hello all. I'm new to forum and didn't know where newbies can introduce themselves - so I thought the subject of this thread would be appropriate. After many thoughts, I've decided to be the new owner of an old Nait 2 for the upcoming new year. I've been evaluating Rega Brio R and Heed Audio Elixir against the Nait and well....the Nait has won me over by its' looks since I've never heard anyone of these pieces of gear.
Goodbye MP-W. Hello and welcome WTCRP.
I too hope Rega will soon introduce a standalone streamer. ![]()

Discrimination! It is around $6 a bottle in upstate NY!
mp-w posted:I have never liket Naim as A produkt onley for the Sound. Had a lot of problems with my CD5 i and XS. Then 200/202/FlatcapXS/CD5XS but never satisfied. Naim should be made i China for stability and lower price. It is not valut for the money, sorry to say.
Seem to me above poster has got issues with his setup, never beeing entirely happy why buy the stuff in the beginning and why bang on here to promote his loss ?
You seem to have moved up to pre/power...why if not happy ? (I would agree that combo is not VFM standalone)
did you get dealers help for qualified setup ?
You raise so many questions with above any decent intelligence wouldn't post such
Rega is good, hope you are using and setting up correctly, I doubt though
Wunderbar, I am glad you found something more to your taste and rega is much cheaper to boot... Why the sour grapes message, I bet most people on this forum have owned a lot of different brands of Hi-Fi gear. I have owned a lot of Linn, Rega and Naim over the years as well as McIntosh and Bryston. I don't feel the need to bad mouth those that are passionate about the musical enjoyment they get from any of those brands, in fact many fond memories of the fully active Linn system and the warm and creamy tube sound of the Mac. I happen to really like what Naim is putting out and think the Nac-N 272 / NAP 250 DR is probably my favorite Hi-Fi combo right now..and despite that I don't bash Linnies (of which I used to be and still think my LP-12 is the greatest big purchase I have ever made). If you like what you hear and it puts you closer to the music great.. But you don't have to piss on everyone else's parade.
Not sure that a public resignation us necessary. I had an all-Naim system and now my IBLs are driven by other manufacturer's sources and amps. The speakers are now in danger of being replaced with something from a well known but small UK manufacturer.
My decisions have been based on the music coming out of the speakers and nothing else. It's easy to knock Naim but they are a well run company with a business model that works. Everybody is entitled to make their own choices and I have made mine. Naim have done some very good work to raise the profile of UK manufacturing and for that we should all be grateful.
PS - I still think Rega is the best value in turntables.. Great arms great stability...

Excellent 'handle' for this thread. I think you could be getting a 'likey' or whatever it is, off mpw !

Ken, how do you like your SL snaxo?
On another post please!!!!!!LOL
Haf, you made me smile.
I do have some sympathy with the OP. My experience with Rega is that the amps, CD players and speakers are very, very good. Strangely enough, I have never liked the glass platter turntables but mk2 P9 (which I own) and the RP10 are superb. I would love to hear a RP10 with an aphelion against a top spec LP12; could be very interesting......
Apologies for the typo "us" should of course be "is"
I have owned a P9 it is great.. I have no disparaging remarks about rega.. The Linn and Naim gear are significantly more expensive and in my opinion a notch better. Price/performance wise Rega is hard to beat
As we engage with our thoughts and opinions, there're post going on this very moment. Some can't afford a 30K System, Some can't afford a 30K front end, Some can't afford a 30K Source, and there are the select few where money is not an issue. But for the most part, as one Audio Reviewer put it!
""There are only two types of hi fi gear worth owning, the best, and very close to the best, for a lot less (money)!""
And this applies to all, even the select few, so enjoy your gear!

I would like a few examples of the second type (doesn't have to be Naim).
