Lemmy gone!

What a damn shame...............last of the great rockers.
You will live on!
Dave.
Shocking news – although he had suffered from the poor health lately. Once again an end of an era. Some Motörhead will be played loud today. RIP Lemmy.
A sad day indeed, one of rock and roll's great characters.
Time today to dig out and play loud my favourite Motörhead album, Overkill....
Sad news, I will be playing his music very loudly this evening with a drink in hand and feeling very old
"We are Motorhead and we play rock'n'roll"
Thanks,
Richard
A sad day indeed. He was diagnosed on the 26th, and now gone. RIP.
Moorhead the first gig I ever went to,Gutted he's gone.
RIP
Karl
RIP, last perhaps of recognised rock and rollers, all far too tame these days :-)
I will put on some Hawkwind on very loud. It's the appropriate thing to do.
I saw Lemmy with Hawkwind in the early seventies at the Malvern Winter Gardens but I’m afraid that my clearest memory of that event is of Stacia their rather extrovert dancer.
On a side note, for a time a few years ago, the ex-Moterhead guitarist Wurzel, also sorry to say, now gone, was a regular at my local pub in Pershore when he was studying at Pershore Horticultural College. I bought his ‘ambient’ album 'Chill-Out or Die' from him in the pub.
Yes RIP.
you did it your way...

Was lucky enough to meet him three times. Once at work (camera shop in Victoria), once after their gig at the Bournemouth Academy, and at the Town and Country club during another rock band's music video shoot.
All three times he was an absolute gent. Erudite, interesting, and funny. 2nd a 3rd times I had a drink with him. My God that man could drink!!!
Have just played Snaggletooth and raised a JD&Coke. True legend.
He will be sorely missed.

Same here, albeit at Wolverhampton Town Hall, apart from Stacia, my other recollection is of Hawkwind coming on stage one at a time playing their instruments(drummer excepted!) and leaving the stage in the reverse order and walking off backwards.
It was a long time ago though so.........
Anyway, RIP Lemmy, a one off for sure.
Kudos to the guy, he lived his life the way he wanted it. Will be eternally grateful to Motorhead along with other bands like Thin Lizzy, Ac/Dc and Rush that made my teens in the 70's a very special experience. It still gobsmacks me when I realise how lucky I was to see these bands live in their prime!
