Qute 2 into XEO 3 help

Posted by: spurrier sucks on 06 January 2016

I'm to connect my Qute 2 into my Dynaudio XEO 3. I've tried using the pre amp out into the XEO hub with speakers set to none on the Qute. The result is silent. This is wrong I assume at this point. Is the digital out the only way to connect the Qute to the XEO 3 hub? I'm only wanting to use the Qute as a source for now. TIA

What type of cable do I need for digital out? None of the cables I have will fit.

It sounds like you've connected the Qute correctly (for analogue out).  Is the volume (on the Qute) turned to zero or muted?

Have you tried the XEO transmitter with a different source?

I have volume set to 84. Think I read that here somewhere. I do have other sources connected to XEO hub and they do work.

Did you try with RCA-RCA leads from qute to Xeo hub line in? Doing that the Xeo should act as a normal power amp+speakers. Be careful if you set the volume on Qute at 84, make sure that the volume on the Xeo is right down at first so as not to damage the speakers (I would start with the qute volume at 50 to be safe before raising it up to 80+).

Do also check that you have then selected the correct input on the Xeo (and on the qute, speakersff is the correct setting).

I do have RCA to RCA into the XEO transmitter. In starting to wonder if stereo out works via pre amp out on the Qute. The inputs on the XEO transmitter work with other sources connected.

Can the Qute 2 output sound via the preamp out? Via analog or can this be done just via digital output?

Yes. I use the the preamp outputs (the RCAs immediately below the aerial socket) to play via my headphone amp. UQ2 Speaker setting is "None" and max volume set to 75. I have the UQ's volume turned up to 75 using the remote and control the volume through the headphones using the HP amp's volume control.

BTW when using the settings to set the UQ's max volume you need to press OK on the remote before it registers the new volume level.

Thanks for the help everyone. I changed interconnects and it works!

Another question. Can I add a sub to the UQ2 if I'm using Qute as source via digital out?
