Ed Stewart, RIP

It is not often that the passing of a “celeb” seems noteworthy to me, but Stewpot has always seemed to be a geniunely likeable fellow...

This is his last broadcast from Christmas Day 2015. I think if anyone listens to this link it may bring a real smile to the face. Music from Laurel and Hardy right through to Michael Jackson!

I was surprised to see the announcement on the BBC website earlier.

I have just listened to this whole two hour broadcast, and it was an almost tearfully nostalgic trip down memory lane.

It spoke to the inner child that has not entirely died in this old fella drifting into the late afternoon of his mortal term ...

I met Ed Stewart a couple of times in the course of my work; he was for a while parton of a charity we subscribed to. A really nice, gentle fella with some very interesting stories to tell!

RIP Ed...

I met him once through work too. Very likeable. RIP Stewpot

Er, George, you and I are fifty four so not sure about the late afternoon of this mortal term!

When I was a lad my Dad used to take me to speedway at Wembley on Saturday evenings and Ed was the resident DJ. RIP
