How much would SL2s cost if still marketed?

If Naim still sold SL2 loudspeakers what would their likely cost be now?

It's clearly impossible to determine the actual price SL2s would be sold for new today vp encaustic there are so many factors at play, including the "what will someone be prepared to pay?" question. I've long since resigned myself to the fact that decent speakers - which might mean akin to SL2s though I haven't heard them - probably are  £8k plus, and still at that level huge differences between sounds of different ones. That doesn't mean tolerable speakers couldn't be found for less, but I wouldn't dream of buying new if if I was shopping with less.

That seems to fit ballpark wise with the estimates on this thread for the SL2.

Meanwhile as an aside, harking back to another recent thread, that does mean if you have new for old insurance you'd have to be certain your contents insurance (assuming you believe in it) allows for £8k, otherwise your insurance co might pay out less - which could be on everything. I think the only way to cover old things if you'd be happy to buy secondhand would be to register that fact with the insurance company in respect of the specific items.
