What a dreadful start to the year this has been

Just seen this. Can hardly believe it. I love the Eagles always have and another great musician gone.

That is very sad news. I was just giving Hotel California a good airing this weekend too.

It would seem that 2016 has got something against great musicians. Not sure how many times we are going to say it's the end of an era but as you say another of the greats gone

+1 just listened right now as this post came in, crikey.

That is very sad. A crap year so far! And 67 near mind 69 is too damned young.

And Dale Griffin from Mott The Hoople died today as well. Terrible year to be a musician... I'm glad I have no talent in that area.

Sad news, for me on a par with Bowie as I was a massive Eagles fan before I was fully into Bowie. Truly gutted.

All our musical heroes seem to be dropping - sad loss for music and rock.  I'm glad they buried the hatchet and came out with the Hell Freezes Over stuff, since now it can never fully be the same.

Love his version of Route 66 from the 'After Hours' album. Sad news today indeed.

Blimey, difficult to believe we can lose Glenn so close after Bowie. Hell Freezes Over became a favourite album.

Goodbye to another one.  RIP Glenn. Another brick from my musical wall gone.

So sad. Hotel California from "Hell Freezes Over"  is one of my favorite tracks. Brings back memories of 6th Form in 1977 when the original album came out. Too young.

Very sad indeed. I'm lucky to have seen him play live with the Eagles a couple of times. Superb. RIP.

Not a great January for sure, I'm just happy I got to see them in 2013, they were the first band to play the reopened 'Dome after Calgary had a '100 year flood'.  Many a happy journey was spent listening to the Eagles on cassette. RIP

It's perhaps as we are getting older as well. But for my taste too many great musicians die every year. And I have as well the feeling that some of the newer generation will never reach that greatness.

RIP Glenn

As an Eagle, Glenn will forever be a part of my music listening. His vocals on "Peaceful Easy Feeling" fit the music and lyrics so beautifully. Hope he's found an equal peace in the hereafter. RIP and soar.

Sad sad news,  my favourite band of all time.
Glenn will fly with the Eagles & their music forever.

Another great gone. Your music will always be with us.

RIP Glen

More sad news for music lovers to add to all the recent bad news about big name artists passing. Thanks for all the great music Glenn it does live on. RIP to you and RIP also to Dale Griffin who as Kevin-W mentioned (above) also passed away yesterday.

I've been listening to BBC R-2 this afternoon & been very pleased by the calm understated way they've programmed in the music & the background stories.
A fitting tribute to Glenn

Glen Frey's solo music to me was the soundtrack of the 80's and Miami Vice's more classic tracks. (Many happy memories as a young man around town). I was also lucky to see the Eagles on tour..

A Sad loss to music

Fantastic singer/songwriter and very accomplished musician.

Glenn - you can check out but never leave.  RIP.
