Uniti Serve and AV2

A new Uniti Serve SSD has been added to my media room. Currently running it into my AV2 via an optical cable. I am curious if I connect an remote cable between the two units is there a way to control volume via the iPhone app?

Unfortunately, UnitiServe (& HDX for that matter) are unable to control a pre-amp's using the n-Serve app.
