This looks interesting ....

Review from yesterday's Times.

"The most hotly anticipated drama of the year? Certainly for those with the Stones, Led Zeppelin and the New York Dolls in their record collection. Here’s a rollicking, ten-part ride through the excesses of the 1970s music scene in New York, and you couldn’t ask for much more from the pedigree — Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger are the executive producers (Scorsese also directs the two-hour pilot). It’s so cool that it even inserts previously unused footage from Taxi Driver. The collars are huge, the leather jackets superb.

Bobby Cannavale plays a larger-than-life record-label boss in the throes of a midlife crisis as he faces losing his beloved company to money men with no belief in the music, man. “Let’s show people how rock’n’roll is supposed to make you feel,” declares Cannavale in what could be the tagline for the entire series. Expect kick-ass tunes and a lot of cocaine."

Richard not sure if this should be in the Padded Cell ?

This sounds interesting – too bad I do not have access to it.

I'll keep it in the Music Room for now...

Thanks Graeme, I'll look out for that. If Martin Scorsese is involved it should be excellent.

Me neither, will have to resort to alternative methods in order to view it. Let's hope this new series doesn't suffer the same fate as other great US dramas - Sky grabbed Mad Men from the BBC, then shoved it on Sky Atlantic, where nobody watched it.

Viewing figures went down from one million-plus to as low as 40,000. And - o the irony! - the narrative flow of the show was completely ruined by all the adverts Sky insisted on running every 10 minutes or so. Wankers!
