if you press a specific track and you are not currently playing a playlist, then this is expected, as far as i know.

there are 3 dots on the top right corner of the screen, press that and you will see play -- if you an album open -- then it will play the album, if you have a playlist open, then it will play the playlist.

hope i have understood your query and hope this helps.

i'm sure others more knowledgeable than i will chip in if not...

enjoy

ken

ps: has this just started happening or...?

Thanks Ken

Yes, it has just happened (on iPad and iPhone).  Pressing the 3 dots simply plays the first track on the album!

Pressing the three dots should give the option to "Play this track" or "Play from this track". Select the latter. No luck? Try deleting the app and download it again.

Check the App settings. Under "Other settings", there is an setting for "Tap for options". If that is enabled, you get the options that CDBOY is referring to. If not, it will start playing the track you are pressing, replacing the current play queue.

Hope it helps

The above failing, reinstall the app on your device.

Has this just started? Were the rips done in wav on a unitiserve? If so, are you trying to play a backup from a nas? What upnp server are you using?

This happens to me about once a month. I use a NDS with a NS01 (which behaves the same as a Unitiserve).

The solution is to turn the streamer (NDS) off, count to ten and switch it on again. After that all will be fine. I don't know why it does this, but the solution works.

This is plain wrong....

Can you please describe your network set up? Please check some of the more important parameters e.g DHCP.

Try switching the streamer off and on again. This always works in my case.

I am so grateful for all your help. I have tried everything you have all suggested including reinstalling the app and lots of stuff with the router and the (Synology) NAS drive (and I should have mentioned that I have a Unitilite).  With one exception - it didn't occur to me to switch off the Streamer, which I have now done and it worked!  Thanks again. Roger.

Yeah watch the IT Crowd, it contains the historical advice of switching on and off. It every now and then happens to me as well and the switching off helps (luckily only three times a year).

Had exactly the same problem last night on my NDS. It looked like a network issue as the screen of the NDS showed it was having difficulty seeing the U/serve. Switching it off and on again did the trick! The universal panacea to IT problems.
