Linking radio paradise with naim app?

Posted by: kassos on 28 January 2016

is there anyway of linking RP more directly with my SU or an naim streamer in order to rate music, add favourites or push the PSD button while I am listening?

if I open the RP app on my iPad it seems to act completely independently of what's playing on the SU.

thanks in advance for any help, suggestions. I did a search on this forum but couldn't find any thing.

PR with 320, 192 & 128kb/s is available in the Naim app iRadio "Naims Choice"
You can then add it to your Naim pre-sets by touching the star on the bottom banner

Thanks Mike- b I can play paradise without any problems on my SU , what I am unable to do easily, is interact with the station in the way that I can when listening on another device, I.e. Rating the music, adding favourites or pressing the Play Something Different button. Sorry if I am asking too much of the Naim Radio experience!

OK,  didn't understand what you were looking for.
What you have is what you get,  its a passive listen only link.

What Mike said.  If you want to rate tracks either use Radio Paradise's own app or visit the website.

As far as I can tell, you can access all the functions of RP on their website without actually hitting the play button. So you could use that while listening via the Naim RP stream, which gives you a higher quality 320 stream instead of just 128 on the RP app or website. The exception is PSD, but then, if you don't like what's playing, you do have at your fingertips, thousands of alternatives on iRadio, Tidal, Spotify, and your own collection.

Thanks for all the responses. Using the RP app I find that different tracks are playing or showing in their app to what is on the SU stream and I have to keep messing about with it to try and get them to be on the same page. It also means that I am streaming two separate streams using up more bandwidth on my meagre rural broadband. I have to frequently return the RP app to "now playing" in order to try and show the same track as the SU is streaming.

Never mind, I just wondered if there was a setting in the RP app that I was missing.

still a good way of hearing new music, second only to the Naim Music Room and what are you listening to. Thanks.

Strange, I've never noticed any difference between the RP playlist on their website and the Naim app. There's a small time delay, maybe 3 or 4 seconds, but that's it.

If you go to the RP website, you will not be using data until you hit the play button, so having it open while playing on the streamer shouldn't use up your bandwidth if you use it to view playlists etc.
