COLLEEN MURPHY presents 'TURNTABLE TALES' ON BBC RADIO 4

Colleen, of Classic Albums Sunday fame, will be hosting a two part documentary series about the turntable - its history starting with Thomas Edison's phonograph and Emile Berliner's gramophone, through to its social impact including stories from portable gramophones in the trench warfare of WWI, the bedroom turntable and the teenage revolution, the invention of the 'scratch' and the turntable as instrument, a turntablist concerto, the weird and wonderful world of high end audio turntables, and much more. Everyone is talking about vinyl, but how about the turntable?!

This two part series will air on the below dates and will be available on BBC iPlayer for three weeks afterward.

Tuesday, 16 February 11:30 am Turntable Tales Part One
Tuesday, 23 February 11:30 am Turntable Tales Part Two
