Superline questions

The SL can be powered by a HiCap and does use the same cabling arrangement as the Stageline.

However, I do not believe it can be used with an MM (never tried myself).  I assume the input would be overloaded.  The Naim website lists it as an MC phono pre only.  I think you would be better served by a Stageline N or other MM-compatible phono pre.

Superline is MC only; the standard Superline is for very low output MCs up to 0.5mV.  The Superline E can be used with low output MCs with a slightly higher output 0.4mV to 0.7mV.

Yes, it's an upgrade over the Stageline but only of the deck and cart are up to it, otherwise it will only reveal any weaknesses more ruthlessly.

Mango - experience from my Rega P25 days told me that Rega MMs are best matched with Rega photostages.  

But matched with a good MC the Superline is superb.

I feel the Exact underplays the potential of the RP6. You ought to be looking to a more dynamic MM cart or a high output MC to pair with your Stageline on the RP6. Many options at a similar cost to the Exact. Slap a HCDR on the Stageline and you're still WELL under the cost of a bare Superline which requires a separate PSU.

But superline direct into 552 is not so bad, so no psu is needed, but as mentioned superline doesn't work with mm. with a good or very good  mc, superline is worlds better than a stageline. christoph

I previously had a Stageline  with the following NAC 282 + NAPSC, HiCap ,Linn LP12, cirkus, Lingo1, Ittock [11], Dynavector DVxx2 Mk2, Fatcap 2. Part x the flat cap & stageline about six months ago for a new SuperLine and ex demo  HICapDR] the difference is not small.
