MuSo changing stations on its own!
Posted by: jasons on 01 February 2016
During Sundays, we have the Muso on from around 10am until 6pm listening to various radio stations.
On two occasions over the last few times, it has decided to change stations all of its own accord.
I have done the usual reset etc, but it seems to have started happening since the last app update, so im wondering if it is that.
Has anyone else similar?
And now, it has decided to turn on by itself.
Seriously?????
I don't have a muso, but I really doubt it's anything to do with the app because that isn't actually talking to the muso unless you have it open on your IOS/Android device.
I would have suggested a factory reset, but you have done that. And you are on the latest firmware I suppose?
I haven't seen any other reports of this happening on the forum, so it might be worth giving Naim technical support a phone call. They don't routinely monitor all of the forum so might not pick up your problem from your posting.

This is an issue that has come up before. I though a firmware update had fixed it. Get in touch with Phil Harris at Naim and he can help sort it out.
I'm not sure it has come up before HH and searching the forum doesn't show anything like that, although there was one short thread about a muso switching inputs randomly and Naim streamers (not muso) switching inputs on their own was a known issue at a previous firmware version.
Anyway we both agree that contacting Phil at Naim technical support is the best thing to do.

Thanks everyone,
Today was the first time it turned on by its own accord, with no app open, however, the station changes were when the app was open, for volume control etc.
i'll email Phil and see what he thinks.
Another quick update...
Last night sat having dinner and the Muso decided it wanted to join in, so came out of standby all on its own.
Email now sent to support !
Any chance this could be caused by an errant signal from a neighbour's remote or wifi ?

If you don't get an email back reasonably quickly, like within a day - not counting weekends of course - then I would ring them, if I were you.

No, i don't think its a rogue signal interfering as after doing a local scan, everything is as usual.
I'll give them a day to respond and if i don't hear back by Tuesday i'll give them a call.
We have had the radio on nearly all day and believe it or not, it has just this very second changed stations as i am typing!!!
Strangely though, it seems to hop to another station that we listen to a fair bit, from a longish list of presets, and neither of them are next to each other in the list.
I have just looked at the Muso and the play/pause 'button' was flashing, with the input and radio buttons dimmed.
