iRadio not tuning with Uniti

Posted by: Jonathan on 09 February 2016

Hi - recently I have been unable to initialize and tune my connection to iRadio. My presets never tune and when I press list I don't get a list of iRadio stations. I have a relatively fast internet connection (35mb/s down and 4mb/s up) and UPNP streaming from my NAS is fine. I have a wired network too.....

Help appreciated....

Cheers

Jonathan

ps: recently added a serviced NAP250 and very happy so far.....

Are your streamer firmware and app version both up to date?

I do believe so. I updated recently - could this be the issue?

I only meant that recent updates have included iRadio changes, so it's as well to make sure you are on up-to-date versions. Sounds like your problem lies elsewhere. I'm afraid I don't have a diagnosis, but there's no harm in trying the following:

Delete and re-instal the Naim app. (You may lose your presets, although they could probably restored if you you have an iOS device backed up to iTunes.)

Reset streamer firmware to factory settings.

If you're still getting nowhere, email Naim support and they will probably be able to sort you out.

Thanks for the suggestion - I reinstalled the firmware. No change (although clock started working when it didn't before). Reset to factory settings. Bingo - works. Interestingly, however, when I switched from DNS to a fixed IP address, the previous problem recurred. Going back to auto DNS corrected it.... So Ill leave as non-Fixed IP for now. Strange.

Resetting to factory settings will have returned it to DHCP, which is why it then worked for you. If you set a fixed IP address in your Uniti then you have to make sure your router reserves that for your Uniti and indeed you have to make sure the IP address and related settings (network mask, DNS) are within the right range. If DHCP works for you reliably then there is no advantage in fixing anything. Personally I just leave it all to DHCP and I never had any problem.
