DBLs Active...good move ??

Hello there... its been a long time since my last visit,

I am now seriously considering my next upgrade... 

3 x latest new 250 DR / 362 / 252

or

500 / 552 (passive)

your thoughts please...

Having done a long upgrade path….

and currently running an active system….

I would have jumped to a 552 ASAP pre owned DR or non DR…. (DR could be done later)

When funds allow upgrade the amps...

552 running even (2) 250.2amps would be better than the single 500 amp...

Remember…  active means the amps are performing less work… the signal is not being run through the amp only to be dispersed by passive coils…  the amps only get a limited signal range to amplify… essentially increasing the effectiveness of the less powerful amps...

I know nothing of DBLs (i run active s600s)

But I can truly tell you…  start with the pre…  a 552 can make a mediocre of an amp... sing….
