Naim Desktop Client

Posted by: oldneil on 14 February 2016

I'm not able to connect to the Desktop Client. When I start the program it only says:  "Failed to connect to the hard disc player located at unknown".  The PC (W10) is located upstairs connected to internet via wi-fi and got no problem. UnitiServe is connected to the router (downstairs) via an ethernet cable.

What's the problem?  The nServe app is working great on my ipad.

Can you see it by typing the US IP address into a browser?

Yes, I typed NSSRV4949 and I could see it there.

Try temporarily disabling your antivirus software. I have found that Nod32 and a few others tend to block desktop client.

And look for a firewall block message, I seem to remember that the standard windows7 firewall  warns against the dtc establishing a network connection.

Tried to block firewall+microsoft antivirus program, but still not working.

But it works on the web browser, so that's OK.
