New Bon Iver album

Posted by: Bruce Woodhouse on 09 June 2011

I think this may deserve a thread on its own. Follow up to 'Emma/Blood Bank' now being streamed at NPR All Songs first Listen.

Dense, atmospheric and rather beautiful. His voice seems to have receded into the landscape rather than telling a story but I quite like that. The layered and multi-instrumental style has a whiff of the Sufjan Stevens in his lighter moments.

My order has gone in!

Cheers Stu,

Will check them out.

The new album is much more upbeat, I have listened online a few times and it seems to be more focussed on sound and imagery than lyrics telling a story, indeed his voice is quite obscured.
