CD5 Cable Connection Direction

Posted by: staffy on 16 February 2016

Disconnected the CD5  player 5pin din to 5 pin din cable.  It is marked to ensure the direction of flow.  Now the following day I have forgotten which way it should be connected.

Is the marker to be facing the CD player or facing the amp.

Yes, I know I'm sad.

Staffy, the banded end always goes nearest to the source of the music signal. Think of it in this way and you'll always get it right.

Why don't Naim implement a very simple measure

Put a piece of tape on each lead with a arrow indicating the direction of signal flow

Perhaps I could get a job in their design department, my priority tasks would be

No switch on thump for all amplifiers

CD drawers that stay where you position them

All paintwork having the same shade of black

So what would you do about a Snaic 5 when powering a CD5?

I think I would limit my brief to only the important issues
