NACA5 Cable orientation

The NACA5 cable, is it the same material on both wires?

Does it matter if the positive, (ie "edged") side is connected to the negative output of my amp and negative terminal of my speakers. Reason I ask is I will have to resolder the plugs otherwise. They seem to be identical is all.

I expect both wires are the same but you should observe the same polarity at both ends when connecting the cables else you may get phase issues

Aren't the plugs the same any way or am I missing something?

Cheers for reply bud, happy with polarity issues etc, just my amp has the +ve on the left for the left speaker output, and +ve on the right for the right speaker output. Just the way my cable has been terminated, my plugs has both on left.

Swopped over at speaker terminals and working sound with LP12 so happy as..
