cat 7 cable any reason for using it with ns01

If Naim as they have promised are going to send among other things, e.g. parts for 2 active systems to Denmark today, I will get my ns01 on  Thirsday!

Until the streaming radio sollution is released for the hdx and other servers, I will only be using the iethernet cable to get meta data about the records on the ns01 from the databases, so not a lot of traffic. However this wikipedia article seem to suggest that cat 7 cables are better shielded against noise? But I have seen no mentioning of cat 7 in the threads about eithernet cables and noice that has been posted over the last weeks.

I have not found a place to buy such a cable, but as I read the article the standard is about 8 years old so they should be available at least  from a online supplier.

Of course I will just start out with a regular cat 5 cable, like I did a few years back when I had a HDX on extended loan for a few months, but since this is my own player I will look into these  tweaks in more detail than I did at that time.

Cat5E will be fine for your application.

+1 and you can drop the E, regular Cat 5 will be absolutely fine

.

As far as I am aware Naim network interfaces only support 10/100Mbit/s connections, the E allows for Gigabit or 1000Mbit/s which is not required.
