Not yet ... but it would not surprise me; still flagged as available mid-Sept.

I see what you mean, Guido

Maybe they got the price wrong...

Do you think they've deleted all existing pre-orders so they can bring it back at a higher price later in the year?

Posted on: 22 June 2011 by Guido Fawkes

I hope not, but as always I will only believe these albums are available when the postman rings twice

All the best, Guy

Amazon have now cancelled all the Beatles pre-order vinyl

Anyone know what's going on?

Hi Debs

Very disappointing - much like the reissue of the Kinks Arthur, I fear this was just wishful thinking by those Amazonians.

Maybe next year - in the meantime the originals are not too bad.

Still better than those two boxes of expensive CD re-masters I bought.

Hi Guy,

Yes you make so very good points.

Wishfull thinking may get us all excited but at least those Amazonians were kind enough not to charge us anything

It was more than wishful thinking as I remember Paul talking about the reissue being on vinyl and then over a year ago an article from the guy doing the vinyl mastering saying he was expecting it available by the summer of 2011.

Don't know what is happening but anyone out there know Paul and can ask him what he knows?

An update:

Amazon now have the 1962 (red) album available for pre-order, again.

But the price has gone up a tenner to £36.72.

The 1967 (blue) album is also back again for pre-order,

but the price has gone up to a stonking £42.34

(This re-issue has not been released yet, and no date available yet)

So it looks like the cancelations were about hiking up the cost.

Maybe Amazon had too many people pre-order them...

far more than the number of copies that will be available (?)

But almost 80 quid for 2 beatles albums is too steep for me!

i can't afford it

The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees.
Now gimme money
That's what I want
That's what I want, oh yeah
That's what I want.

Your lovin’ gives me a thrill but your lovin’ don’t pay my bills

Now gimme money

That’s what I want

That’s what I want, oh yeah

That’s what I want

Money don't get everything it's true.

But it will buy me the red and the blue.

Now gimme money

That’s what I want.

That’s what I want, oh yeah

That’s what I want.

Update:

Amazon uk site have (again) deleted the 2011 [vinyl] red and blue albums,

none of the other Beatles 2011 [vinyl] issues are there either.

Very strange marketing ploy!
