Potential NDS Issue

I came downstairs this morning to discover "Streamer Update. Please Wait" displayed on the screen of my NDS. Obviously I know the Naim streamers don't update automatically and I haven't set anything going. I am currently running the latest firmware.

I tried opening the control app and it couldn't find the NDS. The remote control did nothing either.

I've powered down via my 555 PS, rebooted the NDS and all seems to be ok. The update message has cleared, control via the app and remote control has returned and music plays.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar occurrence with any of the Naim streamers, what causes it and if it's any cause for concern ? Or, whether it's just one of those computer things where a reboot is required.

Yes my NDS just did he same thing and exhibited exactly the same symptoms.  I had to repower 6 hours later as, like you it appeared to be a glitch.

The only problem I know every 4 to 5 months is that things stall and that I gave to reboot. It normally shows itself with the effect that you can only play the first track of the album.

Bert,

I used to have the same issue but mine hasn't done that for many months now.  Pretty sure one of the earlier firmware updates fixed it.  Are you using the latest firmware?

Yes. I've definitely got the up to date firmware.

We were watching Netflix last night but, not for the first time this week and the problem hasn't manifest itself before.

I'll keep an eye on it.

Its funny how we all guessed you had Netflix    ..........   as of now,  no one has any such problems reported that do not use Netflix.  Have a search on  www for Netflix crashing & you will find alarmingly high numbers & going back a few years.

Somebody used Netflix v 8.0.x on an iOS device while connected to the same network as your NDS?  I get the same thing with both my NDX and ND5.  Try rolling back to version 7.1.9 and the problem should disappear.
