How do I see folder size within UnitiServe ?
Posted by: deepinsight on 13 March 2016
I'm looking to see how much content I've got in each folder on my UnitiServe - Music; LQ, MQ, HQ and EX and Downloads.
I've tried Windows explorer, Network, NSSRV... ; Right click on directory and properties but that reports ) bytes (!).
Are you looking for the number of files...or the actual space being used up. Bytes is a measure of space being used up and is what I'd think you'd want to see.
Yes Bart, The number of bytes or disk-space used.
I can see in the web interface under System, Music Stores, Manage Music Stores, Internal Hard Disk, Status the number of bytes used for the entire disk, and space remainig along with number of albums, but not as such for each directory.

Ooops - that should read but that reports 0 bytes (!) - i.e. zero bytes
Not sure you can do this with the Unitiserve (but it does work with my 2 NAS drives) so here goes.
If you go into Windows Explorer and click on "This PC" you should see an option to map a network drive. Select this option and enter "\\" plus the network name of the Unitiserve i.e. NSRV... and assign a network letter to the new drive e.g. "Z:"
Having done this you should be able to navigate to the Unitiserve's individual folders in windows explorer and see the folders' properties.
OS X lets me see the info on a folder by folder basis . . . hopefully Windows does too.

Yes this does work with Unitiserve and I found I had to do this before Windows 7 would let me see the Unitiserve (but an old vista PC was happy to reveal all without the mapping).
