Spotify Connect

As some may have read on my other thread I have been suffering network dropouts when using my new Unitiqute 2. I have narrowed it down that the biggest offender seems to be Spotify Connect.

How exactly does connect work does anyone know please? I ask because the Spotify app on my idevices frequently requires updates. How is connect on the unitiqute updated though? Is it via unitiqute firmware updates or does the update for the controlling device suffice? My unitiqute firmware is up to date.

Recently there have been two Spotify iOS updates. Since then my unitiqute stability seems to have improved somewhat, but then again I thought this before only to be disappointed again, so it may just be coincidence.
