Qute +nDac

Qute/nDAC/NAS.

I already have the former.

Would it sound fine in a NAC202+200 contest?

Alternative is an older CDX2 .

Antonio

That's really several quesions rolled into one

Qute is a Unit range device -  best to leave it alone. Just add some speakers and enjoy. It has that organic coherency, which does not really need any tweaking.

NAC 202 + 200 is a different animal altogether. Here you start on a classic pre-power combo. Of course you will need a streamer to compare to Qute. NDX is a good match.

Which one will soud better? Only you can tell with your own ears The commonly accepted wisdom is that pre-power combo will sound better.

For someone who has been on the Forum since 2007, this is a very confusing question. You might get an amplifier. But as an alternative a CD player. And then you have Qute into an nDac as a source. NDX, nDAC, 202, 200 would work.

just to clarify.

NDX isn t an option, Too expensive.

OK I get this . Not really a match  any upgaded qute into the system but on its own.

Cdx2 then .

CDX2 will be matched very well with 202/200. Consider adding NAPSC to 202 to start with.

Antonio1,

Are you currently using the Qute as an analog source into you 202/200?  You have your music ripped to the NAS, and you are using UPnP streaming as your music source?

If so, the naim DAC would be an upgrade to the Qute, using its digital out.  nDACs can be had for a bargain on used market, and they ofer potential of considerable future upgrade with XPS - if you have the rack space.  Alternatively, you could replace the Qute and 202 with a N272 and upgrade both the streaming and the preamp, and save on both cables and rack levels.

Assuming you are currently streaming, I do not understand why any CD player would be a choice.  The CDX2 is a good source if one does not want to mess with computers, networks, files, playlists, shuffle play, Tidal, Hires, iRadio, etc.

Cheers,

Charlie

Qute>NDAC as a source into 202/200 would get some nice extras such as FM and Internet radio, extra digital inputs, access to high def media (depending on Qute model).

Whether it'd sound better than a CDX2 I have no idea, but I'd be at least tempted by the extras even if it were slightly behind.

Hi. I know how it Works, thanks. Not really into extras ,though i m able to do NAS and UpNp ,definitely not into qute upgrade per se but NDX level into my chain.

well cdx2 seems the deal.
