SuperUniti or Uniti 2 ?

I have to decide between SuperUniti and Uniti 2. Obviously, the SuperUniti is the better equipment. But I own a pair of Usher Minidancer 1 floorstanders which I want to keep. The question is: Will I be able to hear the difference of these two devices with these specific speakers which have some, albeit minor  limitations (frequency range for one) ?  Would it be worth to pay more for the SuperUniti and lose the CD capability (which I will use once in a while) ?

Thanks and regards.

The SuperUniti is significantly better and your speakers should be more than able to show the difference. As to whether you should lose the CD playing capability, that's up to you.

I'm not so sure the SU is significantly better than the U2. They offer different presentations of the music. I prefer the U2 and would only upgrade to the SN2/NDX or 272/250, but would need some auditioning before making that jump. I had an XS-2 prior to the U2 but prefer the U2 sound. If you can I'd suggest give both a listen. It may save you some cash.

I too prefer the U2 to SU (which sound muffled and dark to me -I assume we will soon find a mk2 SU introduced.)

OTOH I don't like several maschines in one ie. the U2 CD will die someday before the amp, most likely

In fact I faced this issue to myself and purchased UQ added a Rega Apollo (superb) with easy speakers, a really lovely setup that doesn't cost a fortune. It lacks however one analoq input for a TT.
