Hi I have a 272 with 250DR .......... which direction should I go 1st.......preamp to amp ..... or loudspeaker cable....can't afford the lot at once....was wondering which would to do .... for best effect...

The first thing to do is to get an XPSDR. It's more fundamental than posh cables.

What the greedy fish said - the XPS transforms the 272 and indeed the NDX and CDX2 and should be your first move. With regard to wires the SLs are very good but actually I would get powerlines first.

The way I did it was to do the dedicated mains feed first, followed by Powerlines, SL speaker cables and finally the din to xlr. Whether it's the 'best' way I've no idea. I've also paid attention to network cables and earthing. Everything works very well together, and each addition seemed to build on what was there already, so that the whole seems to be greater than the sum of the parts.

Yep - dedicated radial is probably the best first step.
