Hiline, reconfigurable?

There's a lot of work involved and I don't think it's something that's particularly cost-effective, hence probably why you didn't find anything.  Better to discuss a trade-in or possible swap with your dealer or else look to the private market where secondhand Hi-line demand is fairly healthy.

Thanks Richard I did wonder if cost effectiveness had made this a non starter hence the lack of chat. Oh well, trade in etc provide other avenues.  Its all a bit academic at the moment in any case. Many thanks.

Surely a Stanley knife, a small soldering iron and perhaps a short piece of heat shrink tubing would be all you'd need to accomplish this metamorphosis ?  (along with a couple of decent phono plugs of course)

Or am I missing something?

(After all, if you bugger it up it's only £705 down the drain.)

ha! yeah i can just see how that would pan out - a trip to A&E with some semi soldered stumps whilst emailing my dealer to place an order for a new one! 

If you carefully disassemble a HiLine plug - as I did to reglue a broken tab on one of the rings - you may find yourself humbled and a little in awe at the extraordinary quality of the soldering. This is a job for a highly skilled and extremely patient person... I've heard that only one individual at Naim does these.

For the record, Gorilla glue (even after clamping) is not strong enough to repair a broken tab. It fell apart again when plugged in.
