Qb multi-room sends NDS in update

Posted by: LarsDK on 04 April 2016

hi all,

am running nds and qb. After I use multiroom from nds to qb, the nds becomes unavailable when i turn off the qb. The nds display says 'streamer update - please wait' and i need to restart to get it back.

are others experiencing same? How do I avoid this - assume i do not have to turn off multiroom in the app before turning off the qb.

many thanks

Lars

I haven't heard of this before, but the obvious fix is to take your Qb off multi room before you turn it off.  Why are you turning it off anyway? Naim kit is designed to be left on all the time.

Hi Lars

I've tried to reproduce your issue, unfortunately I'm not seeing the same behavour. Is your NDS on the latest version 4.4.0?

Also how are you switching off the Qb? Is it a quick press into standby, a long press into deep sleep or switching it off from the socket?

And how is your system set up? Are you wired to the network with ethernet or wireless?

One last thing, can you confirm for me that the NDS is the master and Qb the client.

All the best

Mimi

I can't get my NDS and Qb to do what the OP describes, either. And there's a NaimUniti in the chain, too, which is similarly unaffected. Curious...

thanks for the replies - really appreciate them!

nds is 4.4 - good point! Yes the nds is the master and qb client when i multiroom

it happens when i put the qb into standby - its in a dining room and i push to standby eg after dinner, when we leave the room. It never happenend to the nds before the qb arrived

setup is that both run wirelessly on the same airport extreme - no option to wire. I have problems w dropouts on qb so expect to setup a separate wifi on same network dedicated for qb.

if i am the only one, then will contact naim support to see if phil can help here.

any ideas?
